This has been a lovely week of puppy visits. It started on Valentine's Day with a visit in the morning, from a couple who will be giving a lovely new home to one of pups. They have waited such a long time for a Barbet, I'm so pleased they chose to wait for one of Nelly and Odo's pups. I'm really looking forward to following the progress of all these pups, this one will have some real working water dogs to live with.
The puppies are discovering lots of new things this week. Today we had them outside for a short while as the weather has turned very mild. They played on the grass, met the chickens, played rough and tumble and finished off with a Pilchard and goats milk milkshake, rather them than me, but they made very short work of it. The weaning progress is going well, and I am using it as an opportunity to get them used to the whistle, hopefully this will lead to them understanding that the whistle means good things, which then leads onto recall.
