On this page I'd like to give you some links to dog friendly places her in London, including Pubs, Restaurants and Cafes. Taking your four legged friend out with you does make it a bit more difficult but if you know where to go you're all set for a lovely day.
First of all though, travelling.
Dogs can travel for free on the London Underground, check the TFL website if you are unsure of anything, many stations have lifts if you are not able to carry your dog on the escalator.
Buses are free too for dogs, but they are only admitted at the drivers discretion, sometimes they will not want to take your dog, ask why, be polite, and if the driver is adamant, just wait for the next bus. Of course it goes without saying, they must be well behaved and on a lead.
The boats going up and down the Thames also may carry dogs on certain services, link here http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/river-guide.pdf
There are so many Parks in London, and of course the well known Royal Parks, where dogs are very welcome http://www.royalparks.org.uk/dogs_park.cfm
Most shops are not happy for you to bring a dog, so if it is a shopping trip you are on, then probably not a good idea to bring Fido. Of course, you can take your dog into Harrods up on the fourth floor to visit The Pet Spa, you just need a fat wallet! check out the pampering tratments here! ! ! http://viewer.zmags.co.uk/publication/a0bdde2f#/a0bdde2f/1
Eating and Drinking... generally, dogs are not allowed inside of restaurants, though there are a few exceptions. If a pub has tables outside, then most times you are allowed to sit there, likewise with small cafes, but do ask if you are unsure, Pubs often have doggy bowls too.
Coffee time here http://www.taylor-st.com/locations/locations_shoreditch.html is a real treat in Shoreditch.
For cream teas, brunches or late evening dining of traditional English fayre, try the Albion, even in the rain, as you can sit under the huge canopies http://www.albioncaff.co.uk/
Covent Garden is always a hive of activity, lots of Street Entertainment and pavement eateries, you'll be spoilt for choice.
The Old Spitalfields Market is very dog friendly, again lots of choice to sit and eat.

Camden Lock and Market too although very busy are dog friendly

And... if you get yourself over to Broadway Market on a Saturday, lots of dog owners here, but make sure you visit our very favourite cake stall http://www.cocoandme.com/ Heavenly!
I just came across a write up of this place, The Society Club bookstore in Soho http://thesocietyclubsoho.wordpress.com/about/ it looks amazing, with cakes, coffee, dog food, antiques, first editions, art, photography and of course books, do read the link. I usually go to Waterstones on Piccadilly, fantastic Tapas and cocktails on the top floor, but no dogs allowed, so this looks great.
Notting Hill has a lovely restaurant called the Commander, very dog friendly and a great menu, dogs are allowed inside whilst you eat, and a creche for the kids too.
