Barbet Puppies born 11th January 2012
Next Litter due Early March 2013
We are very fortunate to live just where London and Essex meet, within walking distance of both the River Thames and the Roding, not too far from where Captain Cook got married. The area is rich in history, we live on what was once the flood plains and marshes of the Thames, where Elizabeth Fry the quaker prison reformer, would take her holidays, and where the flooded fields were frozen in winter then the ice cut into blocks and stored in the Icehouse.
The famous Short Blue fishing fleet were based here too, and we often find remnants of them on our walks, an old clay pipe or an antique ginger beer bottle. We have plenty of open spaces for the dogs and ourselves to enjoy, walking for miles along the desolate reaches of the Thames.
We are an active family, and our dogs are able to enjoy most of the activities we take part in.
Our dogs are a very important part of our family, they are what makes it complete. They are family companions, and live in with us in our home.
Growing up we had a variety of dogs, from Airedales and Whippets to Border Terriers. Once our children were old enough, we started the search for a dog that would fit in really well with our family. Lulu! She came to us from Battersea Dog's Home in London. She is a Portuguese Water Dog.
We also have our two Barbets, Odo and Nelly.
They are about to have theirs and our first ever litter.
This is an event we have been looking forward to for a very long time, as it will be an historic event.
The very first litter born in the UK from a Barbet born in the UK.
Visitors are very welcome.
