What glorious sunshine we are finally getting, just in time for the torch bearers who were in our neighbourhood over the weekend. Mirabelle came along with us to cheer for these wonderful people from our local community. The torch bearers final destination in our area was down by the Thames on the Rainham Marshes, where a 14 year old boy took it over the Thames to Kent in a sailing dinghy. We walked over the marshes to watch, and as it was so hot, also found a nice watering hole for Mirabelle (and myself) to cool off in.
With only 3 days to go now before London hosts the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics, we are getting just a tad excited, though the problems of driving anywhere round here means a usual 15 minute drive will now take around 3 hours!!
So lots more local walks for the next 6 weeks.
