I know a lot of breeders want to find the 'best' home for their pups, but many discount a home in the city. Cities often have more facilities for dogs, than those that live say 'by a forest' or 'with a few acres'. London is very fortunate to have lots of Royal Parks, many with water for boating and swimming, and even in Hyde Park we have met a regular group that get together to walk their dogs at midnight! Barbets seem to do well wherever they live, as long as you do things with them. Running, Cycling, Walking, are all free.
Some dogs never leave the boundaries of their garden!!
An excellent example of Barbets living in the city are Tug imported from Paula Ballak in Canada, and Shea imported from
Elaine Fichter
in France., both live in New York http://milesquarebarbet.com/

Odo with the Policeman!
Lots of strange things can be introduced to your dog for socialization.
The embankment is a great place to visit, watch the entertainment and have fun!

Unfortunately he was not allowed to travel on this.
