A few of the puppies came out for a drive this morning, they are all travelling really well, none seem too bothered at all by it, which is good, as when the time comes next weekend for their vet trip, they shouldn't associate the car with the nasty vet who is going to chip them. They went to our local (well about 12 miles away) abattoir, as I needed to stock up on some of the meats I can't buy at the butcher. This abattoir is strangely enough, quite nice for a visit, they have sheep in the paddocks and goats too today, so the pups got to see them.
We bought tripe as usual, but also sheep feet, which the older dogs like instead of a bone every now and again, we also get hearts and lungs from here. I did wonder why the feet are sold in threes and not fours! Are there many three legged sheep around?
I'm happy that one of the new puppy homes has already stocked up their freezer with tripe from an abattoir, in preparation for their new bundle of fluff. I'm getting some home made treats ready for the puppies to take with them, so the kitchen is not a pleasant place to be sitting today, as some of the offal gives off a pungent smell whilst it is drying in a low oven. So while I'm slicing and cooking, the other puppies have gone into London along with Odo and Nelly, to Cabbages and Frocks in Marylebone, who are having another dog event today. It will be very busy, and a few celebrities there too, so they can do a bit of 'people spotting'. Early evening sees us having visitors, to help with some tests we will be doing, I'm looking forward to seeing if my observations match up to the test results. So, seven weeks old today, the time has flown by. I know many puppies leave their breeder at seven weeks, but I think that is too early, so I've got them all for me for at least another week ;-)
