Today we've been to our vets, to buy the last lot of wormers and make appointments for the Puppies for their health checks, microchips and first vaccinations. Each pup will go to the vet the day before they are due to leave, or on the Friday if they are going over the weekend, a lot of extra running around, but I wouldn't be happy to take them all at once seeing as their departures are all set for different days. So time has flown by, it has been such a rewarding experience, watching how Nelly and Odo have both coped with the Puppies, and how the Puppies are learning from them. Old Grumpy Lulu has been a Godsend, she was there all the way through the birth, and loved being with them, but now she is teaching them some manners, so they hear her growl and respect her space, not hanging onto her ears or tail, though they would very much like to do so. It will be a very quiet home once more when they have finally gone to their new homes, and although I will most certainly enjoy having a little lie in one morning, I'm sure too that we will all miss them terribly.
Socialising them has taken up a lot of time this last week, and will continue until they leave. They had a lovely bath yesterday afternoon, I caught them as they came in from the garden after a spot of chicken herding which they are particularly good at. The bathing went really well, they enjoyed the water and came out smelling as sweet as all puppies should be.
