Home....something most of us take for granted. But some people and dogs just don't have a place they can call home.
Here is a lovely programme from ITV featuring Paul O'Grady at Battersea Dogs Home. This is of course where we found our lovely Portuguese Water Dog Lulu. Just like the Golden Retriever featured in the programme, she also came to us at 5 years old, from a lovely home, but due to unfortunate circumstances leading to her owners losing their home and the new property would not allow dogs, she had to be rehomed. We were so lucky to find her, I count my blessings for having her every single day. Battersea Dogs Home is one of the Animal Charities that I support.

Then of course there are so many people now who are homeless, often through no fault of their own, here in London and the rest of the UK. I've just signed up for my shifts over the Christmas period to work with Crisis at Christmas, a fantastic charity which enables the homeless to have a lovely place to go over the festive period, though of course it works with the homeless all year round. There are many organisations helping the homeless, but this one in particular I love, as it admits guests who own dogs, as of course their dog is often the most imortant thing in their life, thus enabling them to spend a warm, comfortable and safe Christmas off the streets. Homelessness can happen to anyone, I've met, in fact I went to his wedding back in the early eighties, an author who went to school with Prince Charles, who through a series of unfortunate events, ended up homeless for many years. Also a business owner for many years, now in his seventies, was another who became and still is, homeless, I loved accompanying him on late night walks last year with his little Norfolk Terrier.
I'm sure there are local charities close to you who would be so happy to recieve a little support in one way or another.
